Teeth colour is for most people a common aesthetic problem. It can be corrected by simple and quick bleaching methods.

Teeth whitening

Teeth colour change is caused by aging, eating habits and genetic factors. To change the tooth colour, it is necessary to change the chemical structure of the tooth.
This is achieved by using hydrogen peroxide. With its pigment binding it breaks their structure and thus brightens the tooth.
Only persons having natural and healthy teeth and over 16 years of age can get their teeth whitened. Before whitening any damage to the teeth must be first repaired. If there is a need, the stem and the plaque must be cleaned prior to the procedure. Only natural teeth can be whitened not dental crowns and bridges.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women are not recommended to do teeth whitening. We apply 2 types of whitening in our practice: Whitening at home and Whitening at the Dental clinic.
Teeth whitening with dental splint
Whitening with splint is the easiest way of whitening. At home a patient doses the amount of gel and determinates the strength of whitening.
The patient applies a small amount of gel (Opalescence 16%) in plastic splint and keeps it on teeth for 4 to 6 hours. It is not recommended to use the splint when going to bed.
The whitening procedure is applied within few days; 4 days per jaw is recommended. The whitening effect is visible just after the first application.
Teeth whitening in Manola Aesthetics clinic
Teeth whitening in the Dental clinic is shorter and more effective from dental splint whitening at home. Opalescence boost 40% hydrogen peroxide is applied to the teeth, depending on desired result. It is applied for 20 to 40 minutes.
Teeth whitening is painless unless the patient has sensitive teeth. In this case anaesthesia can be applied to make the procedure absolutely painless.
Whitening results
Whitening result is immediately visible, but it is necessary to change life habits so that the result lasts longer. A few days after whitening one can't consume coloured drinks such as; coffee, red wine and black tea. Smoking is not allowed.
The only downside to whitening your teeth is the sensitivity that sometimes develops to hot, cold or sweet. It stops within a few days.
Possible light dental irritation is possible as a result of hydrogen peroxide usage. It stops within a few hours.
